About Us

A foundation built on compassion, driven by purpose.

Volunteer holding a puppy at a shelter

Founded with a simple belief: every pet matters.

The American Animal Society was established in 2019 by a group of animal welfare advocates who recognized the need for a unified national effort to support companion animals. What began as a small initiative to fund local shelters has grown into a foundation operating across 35 states, partnering with over 200 shelters, and directly supporting the welfare of more than 50,000 animals.

Our approach is rooted in collaboration. We work alongside shelters, veterinarians, and communities to address the challenges facing pets and the people who care for them. From emergency veterinary funding to community education programs, every initiative is designed to create lasting, measurable impact.
